Ever since assisting Chile wins its first Copa America match, Alexis Sanchez was on an extended break. This had made the former Barcelona player miss the pre-season. However, his return to training, before the commencement of the Premier League, has given a new life to all the Arsenal fans. The team is set to play the Opener against West Ham. Earlier, Sanchez also had to miss the match between Gunners and Chelsea, which the former won by 1-0.
Although the 26-year old has returned to training, manager Arsene Wenger has stated that the player may not feature in the Sunday match. However, he has not ruled out Sanchez completely. He has said that it is still a bit too early to make Sanchez play. However, the final decision will take place at the end of the week.
Arsenal saw the introduction of Sanchez to its team last summer for a total of 34 million Pounds. He had scored 25 goals for his team in his first season with Arsenal. He was also a part of a draining campaign for his country and club which ended in the month of July this year. Sanchez also posted videos of his hardcore beach workouts while he was on a holiday.
His workouts during his holiday failed to surprise his team manager. He said that Sanchez is not one who will spend his time doing practically nothing for 4 weeks. Sanchez was seen going through rigorous training sessions under the watchful eye of his coach. His physical shape, post his holidays, has made his coach and manager happy. It is also believed that the return of Alexis Sanchez has made his team and fans equally happy. All are hoping that he would play in the opener and complete his training properly and on time.
“Alexis is back in training but I don’t think he will be involved on Sunday, it is a bit early maybe,” Wenger told the club’s website. “We have to decide that at the end of the week, but I don’t think he will be involved.”
