Cricket ODI to change rules from July

One day international matches as well as Twenty 20 matches would be getting a change of rules from next month onwards. This was decided by the International cricket council board and would come into effect from July 5th.The changes would be implemented for the series that would start from 5th of July and it is expected that they would be changing the game of cricket for good.

The changes are as follows

There would be no compulsory catchers from the first to the tenth over in ODIs.No batting power plays would be allowed between the 15th and the 40th over’s . As far as fielding changes goes, 5 fielders would be allowed outside the 30 circle yard between the 41st and the 50th over. All no balls and just foot faults would be result in a free hit.

ICC chief David Richardson said that the ODI format has been reviewed by them after a good ICC world cup and so very thorough changes were not necessary. However they wanted the format to be simple so that playing could also be made simpler and balance could be maintained.ODI would be retaining the attacking, aggressive and thrilling brand. The changes were announced in the close of the ICC conference in Barbados and the board also re-examined the recommendations of the working party. The new decision would mean that the ICC Anti corruption unit would need to keep the cricket game clean and free from corruption. The implementation of the new rules is expected to make the game successful and clean and this would also reduce the level of threat because the board would be keeping their eyes open at all times.

Let’s hope that the implementation of rules be well accepted by all players and Board members.
