England can bounce back with Edgbaston crowd on their side says Alastair Cook

Alastair Cook wants England to come back after a disastrous display in Lord’s test while playing in front of special Edgbaston crowd in the third test series match against Australia. In the last encounter between the two teams, England was humiliated with a massive defeat of 405 runs in second test as Australia bounced back strongly to level the five match ashes series with 1-1.

In the press conference on Tuesday, Cook said that Edgbaston crowd will be behind the team and he believes that the feeling will be as if they have got an extra man playing behind the team because of the noise in the stadium. He added that the atmosphere of playing at Edgbaston is totally different that playing elsewhere. With 1-1 series leveled, it would be a great chance for the team to make a bounce back if they have a great crowd behind them. Lord’s was a complete disaster for England and they need to make a strong comeback in order create something special. England have also changed their team for the third test as they replaced Gary Balance with Jonny Bairstow and also called additional pace man Steven Finn who will replace Mark Wood, who got an ankle problem. With a possibility of a rainy weather, Mark Wood won’t be able to bowl outside so the team is bit concerned about calling on him.

England have displayed a poor batting performance in the series and hoping that the in-form batsman, Bairstow will help display a turnaround. Cook admitted that the team had lost early wickets in past matches which have been a problem for the team. He also congratulated Jonny Bairstow for making into the team as he displayed a great batting performance while playing for Yorkshire. Cook was pleased to know that Australian Batsman Chris Rogers was fit again after facing a dizzy spell and suffering from concussion, which forced him to retire during the second innings at Lord’s. Chris Rogers suffered a head knock while training which ruled him out of WI series earlier due to problem with ear.
