Azhar Ali, Pakistan’s one day skipper is also keen to play matches with team India. However, as of now BCCI India is thinking of ruling out the chances of holding bilateral series within the nations, after the attack which took place in Gurdaspur.
Azhar also mentioned that every player has the dream to play match against team India. It would be a good match if both the nations play, and we are keen to put forth a good match against the team and the nations. However at the end he also mentioned that the end decision lies in the hands of countries and not with the players, but if a series within the teams is arranged then it would be great.
The cricket community in Pakistan has been speaking in favor of holding a cricket match with India, in spite of the tension going at the level of government especially after the attack at Gurdaspur.
Najam Sethi stated that it would be tricky to remark anything on the series aligned with India during December, as all of it hinges upon what will take place in Gurdaspur after all this. We ought to be cautious if Indian media or administration holds Pakistan accountable for this episode or not. However as far as cricket is related, all the verdicts are taken at the very last instant.
“We have to wait and see whether sections of the Indian media or government start blaming Pakistan for this incident. But as far as cricket ties are concerned, decisions are made at last moment,” Najam Sethi also said.
PCB chairman Khalid Mehmood, also said that it is quite disheartening to see that always cricket between the nations gets affected due to politics. It is important to note that whenever India is the host country, matches takes place irrespective of situation between the countries, however whenever it is the turn of Pakistan the problem seems to begin. Rashid Latif is also of the view point that politics and sports should be kept separately, but sadly reality is way different from it.
