Man United vs Tottenham Premier League 2015 Predictions and Preview Who Will Win 08th Aug 2015
After an impressive and learning preseason, Manchester United will be ready to start the season with a bang. But with Tottenham Hotspurs as the opposition, the fixture might not be a walk in the park for the boys in the Red.
With five new additions to the team, United will be confident going in to the match and will be looking to stamp their authority on the opposition. The veterans like Bastian Schweinsteiger in the ranks, the confidence in the midfield will be high. Also with the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Ander Herrera, United have an appropriate balance of experience and youth. However, United have still not done any business in the backline and still looks sceptical at the back. That was one of their main concerns last season. Especially now with the uncertainty over David De Gea, back line stability will be a big concern for Louis Van Gaal.
Tottenham on the other side still have Harry Kane on their side, in spite of reported interest from numerous clubs, including United. With one of the most valued young striker on their side and a promising goal keeper in their ranks, Tottenham would be a formidable opposition for United.
However, with the match being held at Old Trafford, United would definitely have a big advantage of the fans that will be charged up with the new signings and the resurgence under Van Gaal last year. The new signings like Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian will be raring to go and impress the manager with their dominant display. If the preseason was anything to go by, Darmian might be a big signing for United. Depay has already shown what he is capable of in the Dutch league, but he would be eager to show that in the premier league as well. With the outgoing of Angel Di Maria, the pace upfront will be missing but with Ashley Young and Mata doing the wide duties well, the need of DI Maria might not be felt.
Hotspurs will be looking to put in the performances that they did last season and would like to push for the Champions League football. The likes of Kane, Adebayor, Lloris, and Chadli will be critical for them to shine this season. There were some talks, that Kane was dropped from the last match Hotspurs played, as United had made a £40m bid in order to secure his services. But it might as well just be, in order to rest him for the season opener. One cannot see Spurs selling their star striker 3 days before the league starts.
