Pak Wicket keeper Sarfraz Ahmed denies controversy from T20 omission

Replying to the recent controversies, Pakistan wicketkeeper, Sarfraz Ahmed has denied all controversies over his exclusion from playing XI during T20 series against Sri Lanka. In the recent conference, he said that he is happy that the team played well and won the T20 series.

He added that he has no issues if he was rested because the decision was as per team requirements and he is not part of the selection committee. He said that his job is to perform well while playing. The exclusion of Sarfraz Ahmed from the T20 series has caused quite uproar in Pakistan which forced the selectors to talk to Shahid Afridi and coach Waquar Younis to find out the reason for not playing Sarfraz Ahmed. Najam Sethi, head of PCB executive committee also admitted that public is raising questions over Sarfraz omission from playing XI and want to know the reason behind his exclusion.

“I am just happy that the team won the T20 series and improved their international ranking,” Sarfraz told reporters on arrival. “I have no issues if I am rested because of team requirements. I am not a part of the tour selection committee. My job is to give my best performances whenever I play.”

Sarfraz, on the other hand admitted that he was happy to play with the team in Tests and ODI series and want to perform well. He was happy to see that the team performed well throughout the tour and won T20 series. He added that It was good for Pakistan Cricket to move on. He also said that it was heartening to see never say die spirit of Pakistan as they were able to steal the last T20 match against Sri Lanka at Premadasa Stadium with one wicket win.

Sarfraz Ahmed has been the star for Pakistan with his good performances against Sri Lanka during Test Matches and ODI series. It was quite shocking to see his exclusion from T20 series and the decision came under lot of questions. Shahid Afridi, T20 skipper has already clarified that the decision was taken to give chances to other players and also denied any partiality.

“I am just happy to see the way we won the T20 series and how we performed throughout the tour. It is great news for Pakistan cricket as we are now moving forward,” he said.
