Pakistan Cricket Team eyes ODI Series Win at Premadasa

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 4th ODI Predictions and Preview Who Will Win

The new look Pakistan side is now looking forward to a series win after taking 2-1 lead on Sunday. The team was managed defeat Sri Lanka with huge margin of 135 runs. With this win, Pakistan Cricket team also eyes to secure spot for Champions Trophy qualification. In order to secure their spot, they need to beat Sri Lanka with 4-1 in series to surpass West Indies in ODI ranking and reach eight spot. This will be a great chance for Pakistan to also secure both double series win against Sri Lanka for the first time as they have already beaten them in test match series.

After loss to Bangladesh followed up with high profile retirement of Shahid Afridi and Misbah ul Haq, PCB selectors have put up a relatively young ODI side against Sri Lanka. PCB has praised performance of young side in Sri Lanka as the same bodes well for team’s future for ODI and T20 format especially. The same has not been the case for Sri Lankan team. After retirement of big guns like Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakara, Sri Lankan middle order seems to be severely crippled. Batting form of Sri Lanka has been under the scanner due to poor display in past 2 ODI against Pakistan. Even the Sri Lankan think tank has been put under scanner due to poor decision to field only two specialist bowlers and playing with four all-rounders. Sri Lankan team need to step up if they want to make any comeback against spirited Pakistan young team at Premadasa starting on July 22nd at 14:30 IST.

Another concern for Sri Lanka has been repeated failures of all-rounder Thisara Perera, who managed just 12 runs with bat and gave away 63 runs in 8 overs in the last match in which Sri Lanka lost by 135 runs. Also Lasith Malinga seems to be not the force to reckon with now, Sri Lankan think tank would be looking to play with specialist bowler instead of Thisara Perera. Also they would be looking forward to better performance from Seniors Dilshan, Mathews and Chandimal to prevent batting to collapse again.
