PCB wants ICC task force to visit Pakistan to revive international cricket

The Pakistan cricket board (PCB) desires the ICC task force on Pakistan to come to Pakistan to revitalize the spirit of international cricket in the country. Although it was revived last month at the board meeting of ICC which was scheduled in Barbados yet it failed in their task, as complained by the chairman of PCB, Shaharyar khan, who was also present at the meeting. He also reminded about the task force has itself said that the ex- England captain, Mike Brearly must visit the country to analyse the situation that is recently going on in Pakistan, as informed by the source.

He also revised the assurance that was made by the task force to assist the renewal of international cricket in Pakistan. They tried to send them to them for playing some battles with other countries but however it made no progress in the bringing the hope back, the source added. The PCB chief reminded the ICC board that PCB has pleased many suggestions which were made by task force. They made a more democratic constitution and enhanced the level of domestic cricket set up.

The chairman also added that the role of task force was not properly done and it eventually created a debate about how to revive the cricket. For further advancements in the situation, he will now hold some meetings with the task force head in London in July. He said that the PCB was not satisfied with the work performed by task force in recent times as it has made a final report related to the cricket issues in Pakistan without its members.

As no team felt safe to visit Pakistan after the militant attack of 2009, PCB requested the Zimbabwe cricket board to send its team to the country for playing a series of matches so that it can grab the attention of cricket lovers.
