Shikhar Dhawan aims at playing consistent cricket in Sri Lanka

Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is looking to play consistent cricket in the upcoming test series against Sri Lanka. He also believes that team is fired up under the captaincy of Virat Kohli and looking ahead to play strongly. He also wants that he should be playing controlled and aggressive cricket in the upcoming clash. Both Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli have played together for Delhi in Ranji matches. He said that team and Captain Virat Kohli has high expectations from him and wants him to perform well. It would be good series for team as all the senior players will be back from rest. Indian team will be playing against Sri Lanka in August and it would be important competition.

“He (Kohli) is really controlled and aggressive in the field and that brings an aggressiveness on all the players too and we are also more attacking towards the opponents,” said Dhawan ahead of the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.

Dhawan added, it is good that there is so much competition for the opening slot in the Indian cricket team. Players take a lot of effort to give their best shot in the game and before they are kicked off from the grounds. It has always been good to be around men who can score runs much quickly in a test cricket and it was Dhawan who scored fastest against Australia in his debut.nowadays it has become a lot important to play quickly in test matches, as good performances in first and second inning of the match can really turn things in favor of the team.

While telling about the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, Dhawan stated, “It is going to be a good series. They have also got a young side and we also don’t have a mature Test side so it is going to be a good competition.”

Dhawan also mentioned that if he gets a good bowl in the game then he defends it, but if a loose ball is served to him then he hits to make runs. His approach in Sri Lanka will depend on wickets, if wickets would be turning down fast then it might become difficult for batsman to face spinners on the ground.       Every batsman has a different way of tackling spinners and it is important to give men this much space on the ground.
